The free digital initial equipment checklist supports parents in obtaining a professional and well-founded overview.

Starting point

Nika Kinderwelt is a baby specialty store in Hanover with over 800 square meters of sales area. The store is run by women and offers a wide range of products for babies and toddlers.

The status quo before the project was that customers received a checklist in paper form. On the one hand, no further explanations were noted because of the lack of space, and on the other hand, there was always information that needed to be updated. This led to a manufacturer checklist being used for the time being, which did not reflect the brand.

Process and solution

Potential was identified in an extensive study. In particular, inexperienced customers expressed the desire for more intensive support during pregnancy.

In several iterations, I created a concept for a digital initial equipment checklist based on the findings from the user survey. The content was defined and created together with experienced consultants on site in the market.

In a small onboarding session, the users get to know the functions and operation.

The checklist entries can be checked off by the users and additional information can be retrieved. Not every entry is immediately understandable for laymen and therefore needs an explanation, why and in which case an item was needed. The entries are sorted into categories and can also be searched.
